the pot of fluted oval form with straight spout, with shaped cartouche enclosing an armorial device between bands of scrolling foliage, shaped ivory handle and pineapple finial, 16.5 ozt gross

    Condition:
  • Mark possibly for Benjamin Mountigue (also known as Benjamin Mordecai). Condition in OK condition, sides with dings (also ding to spout) and wear. Possibly a small repair to spout as they is a fingertip sized discoloration, but surface is smooth, and impossible to see from interior. Wear and tear commensurate with use and age. Underside of pot shows scraping and and base is very slightly convex, but marks are clear. Condition fair. Age cracks to ivory handle and warm tone. Possibly ivory pineapple finial cut down at base? But not sure.
